Friday's 8-star HS athletes (3/28)


1. Chase Diggs (TCA baseball) – Diggs pitched a five-inning perfect game with five strikeouts as the Lions beat Bradford 14-0.

2. Jordan McCaskill (JCS soccer) – McCaskill had three goals as the Eagles beat Lausanne 4-0.

3. Rodney Brooks (Liberty baseball) – Brooks pitched a two-hitter as the Crusaders beat Houston County 14-0. He had a no-hitter going into the final out.

4. Taylor McCarty (Huntingdon baseball) – McCarty picked up the win on the mound and went 3-for-4 at the plate as the Mustangs beat Adamsville 6-5.

5. Logan Hughes (USJ baseball) – Hughes went 3-for-4 as the Bruins beat Spring Hill 3-1.

6. Gian Garma (Westview soccer) – Garma had a goal and two assists as the Chargers beat Dyersburg 4-1.

7. Ethan Mayberry (JCS baseball) – Mayberry went 2-for-3 with a home runs as the Eagles beat Middle Tennessee Christian School 13-1.

8. Will Rigby (Crockett County baseball) – Rigby went 3-for-3 as the Cavaliers beat Union City 13-5.

1. Alex Whitwell (Riverside baseball) – Whitwell went 4-for-4 at the plate, including two home runs, as the Panthers beat TCA 8-1.

2. Amber Woodward (Crockett County softball) – Woodward pitched a three-hitter as the Lady Cavaliers beat Halls 1-0.

3. Taylor McCarty (Huntingdon baseball) – McCarty hit a home run and went 4-for-4 as the Mustangs beat Gleason 14-4.

4. Hunter Sherrod (Crockett County baseball) – Sherrod went 3-for-4 with a home run as the Cavaliers beat South Gibson 9-6.

5. Jacob Edwards (Trenton Peabody baseball) – Edwards went 3-for-3 as the Golden Tide beat Halls 10-2.

1. Caleb Powell (Milan baseball) – Powell went 2-for-3 with a home runs and picked up the win on the mound as the Bulldogs beat Gibson County 8-1.

2. Luke Ward (Riverside baseball) – Ward went 2-for-4, including the game-winning walk-off double, as the Panthers beat TCA 3-2 in eight innings.

3. Ethan Mayberry (JCS baseball) – Mayberry went 4-for-6 and picked up the win on the mound in Game 1 as the Eagles beat Rossville Christian 17-0 and 14-0.

4. Colton Kail (Crockett County baseball) – Kail picked up the win pitching, giving up three hits and striking out 11, and went 2-for-3 at the plate as the Cavaliers beat South Gibson 5-1.

5. Grant Hampton (Bradford baseball) – Hampton went 4-for-7 as the Red Devils beat Humboldt 8-3 and 5-3.

6. Will Weathersbee (Madison baseball) – Weathersbee went 3-for-4 as the Mustangs beat Middleton 10-5.

1. Jada Jones (JCS softball) – Jones pitched a perfect game, striking out eight of the nine batters she faced, as the Lady Eagles beat Rossville Christian 16-0 in three innings.

2. Caleb Powell (Milan baseball) – Powell hit his third home run of the season and went 3-for-4 as the Bulldogs beat Gibson County 11-1.

3. Payton Pierce (South Side baseball) – Pierce went 2-for-2 as the Hawks beat Phenix City (Ala.) 6-2 in Gulf Shores (Ala.).

4. Matt Poteete (JCS baseball) – Poteete pitched a one-hitter as the Eagles beat Rossville Christian 11-0 in five innings.

5. Gian Garma (Westview soccer) – Garma scored two goals as the Chargers beat Union City 6-0.

6. Jordan Lambert and Trevor Bishop (Hardin County baseball) – Lambert and Bishop pitched the Tigers to District 13-AAA wins over Brighton in a doubleheader. Lambert pitched Game 1 and the Tigers won 11-1. Bishop pitched Game 2 and the Tigers won 6-1.

1. Hunter Sherrod (Crockett County baseball) – Sherrod pitched his first no-hitter while striking out 10 batters as the Cavaliers beat Calloway County (Ky.) 9-0.

2. Ke’Shunan James (South Side softball) – James went 4-for-5 at the plate, including a solo home run as the Lady Hawks beat JCS 15-5.

3. Caleb Rushing (Camden baseball) – Rushing pitched a two-hitter as the Lions beat Bruceton 7-0.

4. Justin Roberts (McNairy Central baseball) – Roberts went 2-for-3 as the Bobcats beat Montgomery Central 12-3.

5. Hannah Higdon (JCS softball) – Higdon had a grand slam, but the Lady Eagles lost to South Side.

6. Desrica Crews (Madison baseball) – Crews went 3-for-4 as the Mustangs beat JCM 12-7.

3. Alex Northcut (TCA soccer) – Northcut scored two goals and added three assists as the Lions beat Adamsville 8-0.

4. Sam Lapendresse (Camden baseball) – Lapendresse went 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles as the Lions beat Lexington 4-0.

5. Tiffani Hughey (Bruceton softball) – Hughey went 3-for-4 at the plate as the Lady Tigers beat Gleason 16-4.

6. Austin Coleman (Chester County soccer) – Coleman scored three goals as the Eagles beat Fayette-Ware 7-0.

7. Marshall Pearson (South Gibson baseball) – Pearson went 3-for-3 as the Hornets beat Montgomery Central 10-6.

3. Tyler Page (North Side baseball) – Page went 3-for-3 with a home run as the Indians beat Madison 12-8.

4. Peyton Akin (Bradford baseball) – Akin went 4-for-6 in two wins over Lake County 7-3 and 12-0.

5. Caleb Rice (JCS baseball) – Rice went 2-for-3 as the Eagles beat TCA 7-3.

6. Tristen Lowe (McKenzie baseball) – Lowe went 2-for-2 as the Rebels beat Clarksburg 14-3.

4. Trevor Gonzales (Milan baseball) – Gonzales struck out 10 and gave up just three hits on the mound as the Bulldogs beat Dresden 10-0 in five innings.

5. Troy Smigielski (USJ soccer) – Smigielski scored the lone goal as the Bruins beat Lexington 1-0.

6. Jordan Lambert (Hardin County baseball) – Lambert pitched a one-hitter as the Tigers beat South Side 4-1.

1. Brock Blakemore (JCS baseball) – Blakemore hit a home run and went 2-of-4 as the Eagles beat North Pontotoc (Miss.) 9-0.

2. Dylan Moore (Hardin County) – Moore went 2-of-4 in a 4-2 win over South Side and then went 2-of-3 in a 7-0 win over South Gibson.

3. Koble Borckman (South Gibson soccer) – Borckman scored the lone goal as the Hornets beat Trenton Peabody 1-0.

4. Peyton Fendley (USJ baseball) – Fendley gave up a home run early, but came back to lead the Bruins to a 4-2 victory over Huntingdon.

5. John Michael Spoon (Ripley baseball) – Spoon struck out 14 batters and pitched a one-hitter as the Tigers beat Bolivar 3-0.
