Thursday's 6-star athletes (8/30)

Keeping with tradition, there are no football players in the 6-star athletes. The star football players for the week are honored each Sunday and Monday in The Jackson Sun.


1. Savannah Pillow (Crockett County volleyball) – Pillow had 10 kills, 18 assists and five aces as the Lady Cavaliers beat Trenton Peabody in straight sets.

2. Rebekah Guthrie (Madison soccer) – Guthrie scored three goals as the Lady Mustangs beat Scotts Hill 5-1.

3. Paige Sheffield (USJ volleyball) – Sheffield had 18 assists and four aces as the Lady Bruins swept Rossville Christian.

4. Phalon Jones (TCA soccer) – Jones scored one of the two goals in regulation in helping the Lady Lions win a key District 15 A-AA game over Sacred Heart 3-2 with the victory coming 3-1 in penalty kicks.

5. Jessica Neff (South Side volleyball) – Neff had 25 assists and 11 service points as the Lady Hawks beat McNairy Central in four sets.

6. Dahona Leasure (Liberty soccer) – Leasure scored the lone goal as the Lady Crusaders beat South Gibson 1-0.

Tuesday's 6-star athletes (8/28)

1. Annsley Poston (Chester County volleyball) – Poston had 20 kills as the Eaglettes beat TCA 3-2.

2. Madi Heasley (South Gibson soccer) – Heasley scored twice as the Lady Hornets tied Madison 2-2.

3. Morgan King (Milan volleyball) – King had 25 kills and three aces as the Lady Bulldogs beat Trenton Peabody in five sets.

4. Rachel Giampapa (USJ soccer) – Giampapa scored twice as the Lady Bruins beat Westview 5-0.

5. Stephanie Tipler (South Side volleyball) – Tipler led the Lady Hawks with 11 aces on 19 service points in a sweep of Fayette-Ware in three sets.

6. Carli Sisson (Crockett County soccer) – Sisson scored four goals and added an assist as the Lady Cavaliers beat North Side 8-0.

Monday's 6-star athletes (8/27)

Here are the top performers from Monday's action:


1. Ben Carroll (Hardin County golf) – Carroll shot a 4-under 68 in the Harding County Invitational to claim low medalist after a three-hole playoff.

2. Brooke Cossey (Hardin County volleyball) – Cossey had 14 kills as the Lady Tigers beat McNairy Central 3-2.

3. River Scoggins (South Side golf) – Scoggins shot a 37 to claim low medalist and lead the Hawks to a win.

4. Savannah Pillow (Crockett County volleyball) – Pillow had nine kills and 12 assists as the Lady Cavaliers beat Lexington in five sets.

5. Jasmine Riley (JCS soccer) – Riley had two assists as the Lady Eagles beat Harding Academy 2-0.

6. Edie Buchanan (Madison volleyball) – Buchanan had 20 kills and two assists, but the Lady Mustangs lost to Brighton in four sets.

Here are the top performers from Thursday's action:


1. Lorrie Akins (Lexington soccer) – Akins shot a career low score of 34 at the Humboldt Country Club to earn low medalist.
 
2. Abby Alexander (South Gibson soccer) – Alexander had three goals and two assists as the Lady Hornets beat Gibson County 8-0.
 
3. Paige Sheffield (USJ volleyball) – Sheffield had 15 assists and four aces as the Lady Bruins beat Lausanne in four sets.

4. Bailey Hayes (Lexington soccer) – Hayes had three goals as the Lady Tigers beat Scotts Hill 5-1.

5. Kellie Hayes (Lexington volleyball) – Hayes had 16 assists and six aces as the Lady Tigers swept Milan and Halls in a trimatch.

6. Ashley Tipler (South Side volleyball) – Tipler helped lead South Side to a sweep of Camden Christian and Hardin County in a trimatch with seven kills and six aces against Camden Christian.

2. Caylee Burnine (Lexington volleyball) – Burnine had 10 kills and 15 aces in 33 service points as the Lady Tigers beat Fayette-Ware twice in a doubleheader.

3. Jasmine Riley (JCS soccer) – Riley scored two goals as the Lady Eagles beat Lausanne 4-0.

4. Savannah Pillow (Crockett County volleyball) – Pillow had four kills and 15 assists as the Lady Cavaliers beat Halls 3-0.

Here are the top performers from the first day of the girls' soccer and volleyball action:


1. Carli Sisson (Crockett County soccer) – Sisson scored twice and added an assist as the Lady Cavaliers tied TCA 3-3.
 
2. Andrea Moffitt (Lexington volleyball) – Moffitt had 29 kills and seven blocks as the Lady Tigers beat South Gibson 3-2 and Riverside 3-0.

3. Jake Williams (South Side golf) – Williams shot a 39 to finish as low medalist and lead the Hawks to a victory over Chester County and Madison.

4. Micah Blundell (Lexington soccer) – Blundell scored three goals as the Lady Tigers beat Fayette-Ware 6-1.

5. Stephanie Tipler (South Side volleyball) – Tipler had 20 kills as the Lady Hawks beat Madison 2-1 and Hardin County 2-0.

6. Destiny Robinson (North Side volleyball) – Robinson has 17 service points as the Lady Indians beat Liberty 3-2.
